6. Smelly Compost
If you have a compost that smells odd, then add baking soda to your compost pile, after a while, the stench should start disappearing because baking soda helps stop acid buildup so the smell isn’t as overwhelming.
7. Kill Ants
Take a small amount of powdered sugar and mix it with an equal amount of baking soda. Then place small amounts in areas where ants are seen. The powdered sugar will attract ants and the baking soda will kill them when they eat it.
8. Kill Weeds

Pour a generous amount of baking soda into the cracks and it should kill smaller weeds and prevent new ones from growing. You might have to pull out larger weeds and grass clumps first. Do this every few months and the grass and weeds should stay away.
9. Get Rid of Cabbage Worms
How to:
- take some baking soda and some flour in equal parts: mix 1 cup of flour with 1 cup of baking soda in a bowl;
- Make sure to mix it well.
- Take the mixture and spray your cabbage plants with it.
The cabbage worms will still come and eat your cabbage leaves, but within a day or two the mixture of baking powder and flour will kill the cabbage worms! Make sure to repeat this as often as you need to, especially after a heavy rain.
